Texas weather can change in a flash. We can experience a winter chill with little warning. Being prepared for any emergency can make all the difference in getting through anything unexpected, like below freezing temperatures. Simple tips and supplies can keep everyone safe – whether you're at home or on the road.
Prepare for Freezes
Familiarize yourself with where your water shut off is and how to use it. If you have a pipe burst, shut your water off immediately. If you leave town or will be gone during a freeze, consider turning your water off at the shut-off valve and drain your pipes. If you are not sure how to do so, consider calling a plumber. Your Gas and Electric company can give you tips on how to protect your water heater.
What to do Inside

Insulate your water meter and make sure your meter box lid is on tight
